Responsibilities
As a Security Assistant, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of security regulations, policies, procedures, and objectives to effectively execute security programs.
- Credential Issuance: Serve as the primary issuer of employee, contractor, and visitor badges, including Personal Identification Verification (PIV) credentials, ensuring compliance with all security protocols.
- Biometric Data Collection: Collect biometric data necessary for the issuance of PIV cards, facilitating seamless access for authorized personnel.
- Access Management: Administer and oversee installation access processes, including conducting criminal background checks and managing visitor control systems.
- Conducting Inspections: Perform thorough physical security inspections, assist with minor corrective actions, and coordinate follow-up reports to enhance security measures.
- Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive clerical support to management officials, utilizing automated database systems for efficient credential management.

- Selective Service Registration: Required for males born after December 31, 1959.
- Current Employment: Candidates must currently hold the same grade level or a comparable pay band at the time of application.
- Drug Testing: Applicants will be subject to pre-employment and random drug tests.
- Relocation Expenses: Please note that no relocation expenses will be paid.
