SSC CGL 2024: Deadline Extended for Challenging Tier-I Tentative Answer Key

Important Notice by Staff Selection Commission (SSC)

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a crucial notification concerning the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam, 2024 Tier-I Tentative Answer Key. Candidates who appeared for the CGL exam can now challenge the tentative answer keys. Originally, the window to submit challenges was from October 3, 2024 (6:00 PM) to October 6, 2024 (6:00 PM). However, due to high traffic on the server, SSC has extended the deadline until October 8, 2024 (6:00 PM), allowing candidates additional time to file objections without facing technical difficulties.

1. Tentative Answer Key of SSC CGL 2024 Tier-I:

The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam, 2024, Tier-I was conducted by the SSC to fill various Group B and Group C posts in government departments. As usual, millions of aspirants appeared for this examination, which covered subjects such as General Awareness, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

After the Tier-I examination was completed, SSC released the tentative answer key on October 3, 2024, allowing candidates to cross-check their answers. The purpose of releasing the tentative answer key is to give candidates an opportunity to raise objections if they believe any of the provided answers are incorrect.

2. Procedure to Submit Objections:

Candidates can submit their objections online via the SSC official website http://ssc.gov.in. To access the portal, candidates need to log in with their registration ID and password.

Once logged in, candidates should compare their responses with the tentative answer key. If any discrepancies are found, they can challenge specific answers by providing valid proof or reasoning. For every objection submitted, candidates are required to pay a fee of ₹100 per question, which can be paid through credit card, debit card, or net banking.

3. Extension of Deadline:

Initially, SSC set the deadline for submitting objections as October 6, 2024 (6:00 PM). However, due to the overwhelming number of candidates attempting to access the server at the same time, there was a noticeable lag in the system’s response time. To ensure every candidate has a fair chance to file their objections without time constraints, SSC has extended the deadline until October 8, 2024 (6:00 PM).

This extension offers candidates an additional two days to review the tentative answer key and submit their objections if necessary.

1. Evaluation of Objections:

Once the window for raising objections closes, a panel of experts appointed by SSC will thoroughly evaluate each objection. If an objection is found to be valid, the necessary corrections will be made, and a final answer key will be released. This revised answer key will form the basis for evaluating the candidates’ scores.

2. Final Answer Key and Result Declaration:

After addressing all valid objections, SSC will publish the final answer key on its website. This final version is non-contestable, and no further challenges will be accepted. The candidates’ final scores in the Tier-I examination will be based on the answers from this key, and the results will be declared accordingly.

3. Preparation for Tier-II:

Candidates who qualify in Tier-I will move on to Tier-II of the SSC CGL 2024 examination, which will test their skills at a more advanced level. The Tier-II exam carries significant weight in the overall selection process, as it plays a major role in determining the final merit list.

  • Candidates are advised to carefully review the tentative answer key and raise objections only if they are sure of discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all objections are submitted well before the extended deadline, as no further extensions will be granted.
  • Candidates should regularly visit the SSC official website to stay updated on further announcements regarding the final answer key and Tier-I results.
  • Starting Date for Raising Objections: October 3, 2024 (6:00 PM)
  • Extended Last Date for Submitting Objections: October 8, 2024 (6:00 PM)

The extension of the objection window is a relief for many candidates who faced difficulties due to the heavy load on SSC’s server. This extra time provides an opportunity for candidates to thoroughly review their responses and ensure that any inaccuracies in the tentative answer key are corrected before the final key is published.

To file objections or for more information, candidates should visit SSC’s official website.

This is a crucial step in ensuring fairness and transparency in the evaluation process of one of the most sought-after government job exams in India. Candidates should make the most of this extended deadline to review their answers and submit any objections with confidence.

By taking prompt action and staying informed, candidates can ensure their best chances of success in the SSC CGL 2024 examination and its subsequent stages.
