BHEL Artisan Recruitment 2026: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Government of India Public Sector Undertaking, has released the BHEL Artisan Recruitment 2026 notification for Artisan Grade IV posts in various manufacturing units across India. A total of 660 vacancies are available for Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic and Foundryman Trades. Candidates with Class 10th, ITI/NTC and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade can apply. Salary:
During the first year, selected candidates will work as Temporary Artisans and receive Rs. 24,000 per month.
After successful completion of the temporary period, candidates will be regularized as Artisan Grade IV with a pay scale of Rs. 29,500–65,000, along with applicable allowances as per company rules.
Qualification & Experience:
Artisan Grade IV: Class 10th plus National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic or Foundryman Trade.
Minimum marks required in both ITI/NTC and NAC:
- General and OBC candidates: 60% marks
- SC and ST candidates: 55% marks
- Only full-time regular courses will be considered. The required ITI/NAC certificates and marksheets must have been issued by 01 October 2026.
Total Vacancies: 660 Posts
Age Limit:
- Maximum Age for General/EWS Candidates: 27 Years as on 01 October 2026.
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years age relaxation.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years age relaxation.
- PwBD candidates: 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC-NCL and 15 years for SC/ST.
- Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per Government rules.
- Candidates may also receive age relaxation of up to 7 years based on relevant work experience, subject to the prescribed conditions. The maximum age, including applicable relaxations, must not exceed 56 years as on 01 October 2026.
Selection Process:
The selection process will consist of two stages.
Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Candidates must appear for a Computer Based Examination in their respective trade. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test based on CBE marks and the prescribed category-wise merit ratio.
- Minimum qualifying marks:
- General/EWS: 40%
- OBC-NCL/SC/ST: 30%
Stage 2: Skill Test and Document Verification
- Shortlisted candidates must undergo Document Verification and a qualifying Skill Test. The final merit list will be prepared based on CBE marks after candidates are found eligible during verification and qualify in the Skill Test.

- General/EWS/OBC candidates: Rs. 1,072 (Rs. 600 examination fee plus Rs. 400 processing fee and GST).
- SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates: Rs. 472 (no examination fee; Rs. 400 processing fee plus GST).
- Applicable bank charges may be extra.
