Job Responsibilities

The Director (Operations) will be a part of the Board of Directors at CSL and report to the Chairman & Managing Director. This position is responsible for the following:

• Overseeing the Shipbuilding Division of CSL, including Design and Engineering, Material procurement, and Ship construction.
• Ensuring that the division meets contractual obligations in terms of time, cost, and quality.
• Managing large-scale fabrication, outfitting, testing, and ship commissioning processes.
• Ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) norms.
• Managing industrial relations and ensuring the motivation of a productive workforce.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit

As of the date of vacancy (June 1, 2025):

• Minimum Age: 45 years
• Maximum Age:
  • Internal Candidates: 2 years of residual service before the date of superannuation.
  • External Candidates: 3 years of residual service before the date of superannuation.
• Superannuation Age: 60 years

2. Employment Status

The candidate must hold a regular position in:

• A Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), or
• Central Government Group ‘A’ Officers, State Public Sector Enterprises (SPSE), or Private Sector Companies with an annual turnover of ₹2,000 crore or more.

3. Educational Qualifications

Candidates must be Engineering Graduates from a recognized university with a preferred specialization in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture.

4. Experience Requirements

Candidates must have at least 5 years of cumulative experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, business development, or related areas in a PSU shipyard, private shipyard, or the Indian Navy within the last 10 years.

5. Pay Scale Requirements

Candidates must currently work in one of the following pay scales:

• Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE):
  • ₹1,20,000 – ₹2,80,000 (IDA) or above
  • Or equivalent pay scale in Government/Public Sector Banks

Selection Process

The selection for Director (Operations) will be done by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). The candidate must submit their application through proper channels as outlined below:

• CPSE/ SPSE Officials: Through the concerned ministry/department.
