GRSE Recruitment 2026: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) has released Employment Notification No. 2026/05 for 58 vacancies of Journeyman and Driver (Vehicle). Candidates with 10th qualification and relevant ITI/NAC/NTC certificates can apply for Journeyman posts, while the Driver (Vehicle) post requires a valid Commercial LMV Driving Licence and six years of driving experience. Job Location:
Kolkata, West Bengal. Selected candidates may be posted at any GRSE unit, project or company location, including Raichak and Timber Pond.

Salary / Stipend:

Journeyman:

  • 1st Year: ₹24,000 per month
  • 2nd Year: ₹26,000 per month

Journeymen will undergo two years of training on a fixed stipendiary basis. After successful completion of training, they may be considered for absorption into the permanent roll in the Semi-Skilled (SSK) grade, subject to performance, organisational requirements, vacancy availability and medical fitness.

Driver (Vehicle):
Pay Scale: ₹20,110–3%–₹70,390, plus applicable Industrial DA, HRA, allowances, CPF, gratuity, medical and canteen benefits as per company rules.

  1. Carpenter: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Carpenter, Wood Work Technician or Shipwright (Wood) trade.
  2. Crane Operator: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Electrician trade. Government-recognised Crane Operation certification is desirable.
  3. Diesel Mechanic: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Diesel Mechanic, Mechanic Diesel or Mechanic (Marine Diesel) trade.
  4. Driver Material Handling: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Diesel Mechanic trade and a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence. Government-recognised Crane Operation certification is desirable.
  5. Electrician: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Electrician trade.
  6. Electronic Mechanic: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Electronic Mechanic trade.
  7. Fitter: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Fitter, Weapon Fitter or MMTM trade.
  8. GRP/FRP Worker: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Fiber Reinforced Plastic Processor or Plastic Processing Operator trade, OR 10th Pass with NSQF Plastic FRP Operator course.
  9. Machine Operator: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Millwright Mechanic or MMTM trade.
  10. Painter: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Painter (General), Painter (Marine) or Industrial Painter trade.
  11. Pipe Fitter: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Pipe Fitter or Plumbing trade.
  12. Rigger: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Rigger, Carpenter or Wood Work Technician trade.
  13. Structural Fitter: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Structural Fitter, Fabricator, Sheet Metal Work or Fitter trade.
  14. Welder: 10th Pass with NAC/NTC in Welder or relevant specified welding trade.

Driver (Vehicle) – Skilled, Grade-III:

  • Matriculation (10th Pass).
  • Valid Commercial LMV Driving Licence.
  • Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles in an organisation, firm or rental agency on a direct employment basis.
  • Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence is desirable.
  • Experience as a Staff Car Driver for senior officers of Government organisations/PSUs is desirable.
  • Candidates must have a clean driving record, without accident history, police complaints for accidents, major traffic violations, reckless driving or driving under the influence of alcohol during the last six years.

Journeyman:

  • Maximum Age: 26 Years
  • OBC: 3 Years relaxation
  • SC/ST: 5 Years relaxation
  • PwBD: 10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC-NCL and 15 years for SC/ST.

Driver (Vehicle):

  • Maximum Age: 32 Years
  • OBC: 3 Years relaxation
  • PwBD: 10 years for UR and 13 years for OBC-NCL.
  • Applicable age relaxation is also available for Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Agniveers as per the notification.

Selection Process:

Selection will be based on the following stages:

  1. Written Examination
  2. Document Verification
  3. Practical (Trade) Test
  4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET), wherever applicable
  5. Medical Examination

  • SC/ST/PwBD/Internal Candidates: No Application Fee
