Digital India Corporation, established by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, aims to innovate, develop, and deploy Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and other emerging technologies for the benefit of the common man. As a not-for-profit company under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013, it spearheads the Digital India programme, promoting technology for e-Governance, e-Health, e-Agriculture, e-Payments, and ensuring safety and security in a cashless economy. Job Opening: Legal Officer

Digital India Corporation is inviting applications for the position of Legal Officer purely on a contract/consolidated basis for the Grievance Appellate Committee (GAC).

Position Details

• Job Title: Legal Officer
• Number of Vacancies: 01
• Place of Posting: New Delhi (transferable to project locations as per existing policy)
• Contract Tenure: 1 year (extendable)
• Remuneration: ₹12 – ₹15 lakhs per annum (commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in policy, litigation, adjudication, etc.
• Educational Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognized Law University.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Familiarity with Techno-Legal aspects, including the IT Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021.
• Expertise in legal/techno-legal research, including analysis and interpretation of international laws, regulations, and policies related to cyberspace.
• Proficiency in legislative drafting of Bills, rules, and guidelines related to the IT Act and other cyber laws.
• Experience in handling public grievances related to cyber laws.
• Ability to provide legal opinions and advice on cyber law aspects.
• Understanding of social media platforms and their grievance redressal mechanisms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
